Jalen Amir King is an interdisciplinary Afro-Surrealist artist primarily exploring the divine and the plantation (metaphorical and otherwise), noting when the two intersect, merge, and split as a mechanism that has consistently evolved since the Trans-Atlantic. Dedicated to making sense of racial and gendered anxieties and desires, King reckons with the human condition and theorizes the real, the unreal, and the surreal.
